93 of St. Albans, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
He was born on October 31, 1932, to the late James DeCarlo Sr. and Anna Marie Clementino DeCarlo. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Pegram, Carolyn Ontko, Mary Jean Birdsong, and Francesca; brother, Anthony DeCarlo; and uncle, Albert Clementino.
Jim was a Consumer Finance Supervisor and served in the
Korean War as a
Master Sargent in the US Army, where he was awarded a
Purple Heart. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, VFW, Korean War Veterans Association, and the Nitro Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Nancy Jean DeCarlo of St. Albans; sons, Daniel DeCarlo (Kathleen Ann) of Baltimore, MD, and David DeCarlo (Rebecca Ann) of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Jenna DeCarlo (Andrew Ray), Cara DeCarlo (Johnny Dolin), Samantha DeCarlo and Jamie DeCarlo; and many other extended family and friends.
Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar. Burial will follow in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:30-11:30 am at Bartlett-Nichols Funeral Home, St. Albans.
