155MM HOWITZER

The M114 Howitzer was produced from 1941 to 1953 and served in World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Desert Storm. Most of the ammunition used by the M114 consisted of smoke or high-explosive rounds. Other types included illumination shells for battlefield lighting, chemical shells (which are now outlawed and no longer in use), and even nuclear-tipped warheads during the Cold War.
The VFW Post 6418 Howitzer is being moved to a facility where it will be cleaned, repaired as needed, and painted. After all that is complete, it will be transported to a location in St. Albans, West Virginia, where it will be on display.
