VFW NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE - STILL SERVING
 
VFW Post 6418 gathered backpacks and personal items, packed them up, and handed them out to the homeless and others in need.
We had a donation collection box at St. Albans Kanawha Terrace IGA, which was picked up on May 10, 2026. The donated items were given to the homeless and those in need, packed in backpacks that were also donated.

If you wish to continue helping, we have an ongoing program called BACKPACKS4VETERANS that needs plenty of personal items to fill the backpacks.
Call/Text Commander, St. Albans VFW POST 6418 at 304-982-1309 if you have items.
or backpacks to be picked up, or if you have a check or cash donation you wish to donate.
The VFW Post 6418 Commander will help by picking it up, allowing us to purchase more backpacks. You can donate through our "DONATE NOW" button or send a check or money order to St. Albans VFW Post 6418, PO Box 507, St. Albans, West Virginia 25177. Please make checks or money orders payable to VFW Post 6418. We need funds to buy backpacks.

OPENING CEREMONIES
    
The Moving Wall was organized by St. Albans VFW Post 6418.
It was on display in St. Albans, West Virginia, June 25–29, 2026,
at the St. Albans Shopping Center on Rt. 60.
Opening ceremonies took place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, during the display period.
St. Albans Post 6418 was awarded West Virginia VFW Post of the Year by the Dept. of West Virginia.

    District 2 School of Instruction – Official Notice

    A School of Instruction for District 2 will be held on Saturday, October 17, at 10:00 a.m. The training will take place at St. Albans VFW Post 6418, 1011 Pennsylvania Ave. in St. Albans, West Virginia 25177.

    Several representatives from the Department will be present to provide instruction across multiple subject areas. All Post Commanders within District 2 are required to attend this School of Instruction ("SOI").

    Much of the material presented will be particularly relevant to Quartermasters and Adjutants, and each Post is strongly encouraged to ensure that their QM and/or Adjutant is in attendance. Topics will likely include OMS procedures, weekly tally sheets, and an overview of the new Command Post system that will replace OMS.

    This training will offer valuable information for all officers, and it would be beneficial for each Post to have its full leadership present. If a Post is unable to send a representative, please contact District Commander Chad Conley as soon as possible.
