The St. Albans High School JROTC will be celebrating the 250th Birthday of the Marine Corps On Monday, 10 November 2025, at 0900. This will also Serve as St. Albans High School's Veterans' Day ceremony. Commander, VFW Post 6418 will be there.

On Saturday, September 20, 2025, VFW Post 6418 was present at the St. Albans, West Virginia, Chamber of Commerce's 'TRAIN DAY' located at 404 4th Ave. in St. Albans, West Virginia. All had a good day. Much thanks and appreciation for those that helped and attended.

The VFW Riders Groups National Committee Meeting was held at the 2025 VFW National Convention in Columbus, Ohio, in August 2025. Proposed VFW Riders Group changes were approved—national bylaws to be drafted. VFW RIDERS POST 6418 EVENT PLANNED FOR JULY 18, 2026. VFW Post 6418 was there and had a successful day. 'FALL FESTIVAL AT MORGAN KITCHEN' Saturday, September 27th, 2025, 8 am - 4 pm at Morgan Kitchen Plantation Museum on Rt. 60 in St. Albans, West Virginia. VFW POST 6418 will be there with a VFW Post 6418 Recruiting and Information booth, Buddy Poppy Drive, and other things. Thanks to those who support VFW Post 6418.

Initial planning for this JUNE 2025 EVENT has begun, and VFW Post 6418 has approved it to proceed. The St. Albans, West Virginia Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors supports this effort. Those interested in serving on this committee should contact Commander VFW Post 6418 at 304.982.1309. Phone or text is OK. We're available for suggestions. Sponsors and donors are welcome to help meet our financial needs and make this EVENT a success for our community. Project costs are expected to be about $10,000, and we're asking the public, including businesses and citizens, to donate and get involved.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Elkview VFW Post will host the following West Virginia VFW District 2 Meeting. Starts at noon.

Helping VFW Post 6418 attain membership and community activities goals. With your involvement & contributions, we can make a positive impact in our community and better serve veterans. Everything we do is for veterans. Veterans are always welcome.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Approximately 50 Backpacks were given to HOMELESS VETERANS on Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 'VETERANS STAND DOWN' held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 314 Donnally St., Charleston, West Virginia. Several female veterans' backpacks remained at the end of "Stand Down." Those were given to female soldiers of the West Virginia Army National Guard, currently working without pay due to the government shutdown.
