National Recognition – July 25, 2026

Post 6418 will be formally honored at the VFW National Convention in Reno, Nevada, on July 25, 2026, where national award recipients from across the country will be recognized for excellence in service and commitment to their communities.

How National Winners Are Selected

Each Department identifies one Community Service Post based on total community impact. VFW National then evaluates all Department winners using the end‑of‑year Community Service Reports submitted July 1. National award recipients are featured in the official Convention Program Booklet and recognized during the Convention’s award ceremonies.

Community Award Sign

As part of this national honor, Post 6418 will receive an official National Community Service Post of the Year street sign, designed for prominent display in the St. Albans community to highlight the Post’s achievement and service legacy.

A Year of Excellence

This national recognition adds to Post 6418’s distinguished record as a 2025–2026 All‑State and All‑America Post, reflecting excellence in membership, community engagement, veterans’ support programs, and VFW leadership standards.
