Supporting Our Heroes in 2026!

 

BACKPACKS 4 VETERANS is VFW Post 6418's official 'Day of Service' event scheduled for May 2026. We will spend Wednesday, May 6, 2026, collecting personal hygiene products and packing them into donated backpacks.

We're currently in need of Backpacks. If you can donate funds to cover the purchase of Backpacks, we would certainly appreciate it. Alternatively, if you have new backpacks that you are willing to donate, that would also help. These backpacks will be filled with personal items and distributed to homeless individuals and veterans in need.

We are seeking one hundred (100) new Backpacks to be given to The homeless, including homeless veterans in need.

Please contact the Commander at VFW Post 6418 if you have new backpacks to donate or wish to make a monetary donation to purchase backpacks.

We are also happy to pick up personal items in boxes or bags that are ready to go or already packed into backpacks—that would be great.

 

 

  

St. Albans VFW Post 6418 is hitting the road! We are gearing up to attend four Veteran Stand Downs across West Virginia this year. We’ll be in Logan, Huntington, Charleston, and St. Albans with backpacks ready to distribute to our homeless veterans. 

Save the Date:We will also have backpacks available during The Moving Wall event right here in St. Albans from June 25–29, 2026.
