Planning for building the foundation & platform to support The Moving Wall panels began with a visit to 84 Lumber in St. Albans, West Virginia, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. A stop at Lowe’s in Nitro followed to check out the Precast Concrete Post Base/Foundations. The total needed is calculated by dividing the wall’s length by 4 ft on-center—250 ft (+) divided by 4 ft equals 64 precast concrete bases/fdns. & posts will be required. Next steps include drafting a Bill of Materials and creating a few sketches, possibly a detailed drawing. Progress updates will be shared here as they happen. Volunteers are needed to help build the platform and install the panels. Additionally, power tools INCLUDING A TABLE SAW and a generator will be required. Volunteers and donations are welcome.
