THE MOVING WALL ~ JUNE 2026

Commander, VFW Post 6418 - 11/21/2025

Welcome to The Moving Wall Community Event by VFW Post 6418 from June 25th- 30th, 2026

The Moving Wall is a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC; it stands 6 feet tall at the center and spans 253 feet from end to end.

This Moving Wall Memorial serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the Vietnam War.

It was created to help heal and rekindle friendships and to give people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their hometowns who might otherwise be unable to make the trip to Washington. Event costs for VFW Post 6418 are expected to be about $10,000.

We'll be requesting donations from businesses and citizens. Check back for additional information and details in the coming weeks and Months.

For the 2025–2026 VFW Administrative Year, we aim to recruit 100 new members by May 1, 2026. We can make it happen if we work together. I am counting on our members to bring in the necessary recruits. I know this can be accomplished. Reaching our target of 100 total members, a realistic goal based on membership input, now requires fewer than forty (35) additional new members.

Meetings are held at 1011 Pennsylvania Ave. on the third Thursday of each month. Next Meeting: April 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Arrive early for informal discussions and The Moving Wall Committee Meeting.
