It will be displayed in St. Albans, West Virginia, June 25-29, 2026.

At the St. Albans Shopping Center on Rt. 60.

Opening Ceremonies will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 a.m.

a busy schedule of community events &service programs.

We invite all members & supporters to participate in:

• VFW Day of Service: Wrapped up on May 10, 2026, for St. Albans VFW Post 6418.

• Buddy Poppy Drives: Help us support veterans in need by donating to our Veterans Relief Fund. Send a check or money order payable to St. Albans VFW Post 6418, Attn: Veterans Relief Fund, mail it to VFW Post 6418, PO Box 507, St. Albans, WV 25177. 

• Backpacks4Veterans: Providing essential supplies to support our homeless brothers and sisters.

• Scout of the Year: Applications for St. Albans VFW Post 6418 were due to the post by March 1, 2026—see details under "Programs.” The deadline to send them to the National VFW HQ was April 1, 2026. 

• JROTC: Our Award Nomination, previously canceled due to budget constraints, has been reviewed for implementation by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 Commander and will be discussed at the next VFW Post 6418 meeting on June 18, 2021. VFW  Post 6418 is proud to announce that the Commander will propose a $750 scholarship at that meeting, to be awarded to the top JROTC Cadet. If adopted by VFW Post 6418, the winning Cadet will receive a $750 check to further their education.  

• THE SPARK OF LOVE FOUNDATION: Tee-Off for Kids Charity Golf Tournament happening on September 19, 2026.

• Foley Defense FD15 Raffle Ticket Sales: Get your tickets today and show your support for the many veterans and community programs at St. Albans VFW Post 6418.

• Glock-19 Gun Raffle Ticket Sales: Grab your tickets today and show your support for THE MOVING WALL. All proceeds from the Glock 19 Gun Raffle will help cover The Moving Wall’s expenses.

• MOTORCYCLE RIDERS' ESCORT FOR THE MOVING WALL WILL BE DISCUSSED AT THE VFW POST 6418 MEETING ON JUNE 18, 2026, STARTING AT 6 P.M. LOCATION: 1011 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., ST. ALBANS, WEST VIRGINIA. THE MOVING WALL WILL BE ARRIVING IN ST. ALBANS ON JUNE 25, 2026.

• Veterans Poker Run: VFW Riders Post 6418 WV Veterans Poker Run, featuring  Custom Bike Show, vendors, swap meet, and veterans outreach on July 18, 2026. National VFW Riders Group  Ride: The Vander Clute Memorial Ride is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, during the VFW National Convention in Reno, Nevada.

• VFW West Virginia State Convention. The event will take place from June 18 to 21, 2026, in Bridgeport, West Virginia.

• VFW RIDERS GROUP Meeting Friday, July 24, 2026, at the VFW National Convention in Reno, Nevada

•  VFW NATIONAL CONVENTION July 24 to 29, 2026, in Reno, Nevada  

VFW Post 6418 is also focused on OFFICER TRAINING & SUPPORT, Recruitment & Retention, and Grant Writing to ensure our post remains strong and sustainable. Whether it's through an Honor Guard detail or a local outreach event, there are many ways to get involved.

VFW Post 6418 website admins and potential website admins should be aware that an online VFW6418 website training class is held every Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m., hosted by the VFW National Webmaster.

If you are interested in becoming an "Admin" for our website, please let us know. Contact the Commander or Adjutant/Quartermaster.

We are currently seeking VFW Post 6418 members who wish to get involved in this specialized effort. 

 

Additional Upcoming Department of West Virginia and District 2 Events

From West Virginia State HQ: The 2026 State VFW Convention is June 18–21, 2026.

Deadline for reserving a room is May 15, 2026. 

The District 2 Convention was Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mason VFW Post 9926 (12 p.m.)

District 2 Officers were elected for the new VFW Administrative Year 2026 - 2027, and

New Bylaws were voted on and approved. 

The next District 2 Meeting will be Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Elkview VFW Post 8516 (12 p.m.)
